Py-libp2p active or "going extinct slowly"?

Is the project GitHub - libp2p/py-libp2p: The Python implementation of the libp2p networking stack 🐍 [under development] under active development? If so how can join the dev team discussions?

@FValkyrie_17 it’s not under active development anymore. Definitely ripe for community contributions and even ownership

Hello @FValkyrie_17

It’s a new year and a couple of us are reviving py-libp2p. Keep an eye out on the libp2p community calendar for a py-libp2p Open Maintainers Call in the next few weeks: libp2p Events Calendar · Events Calendar

Cheers! :beers:
Dave

I am willing to contribute to the code but don’t know where to start off. I am perticularly interested in NAT hole punching using stun or DCUtR.
I don’t know if such functions has been supported by py-libp2p or in the schedule.
Since there is little development roadmap or schedule I’ve found, I don’t know where to start and if anyone is still maintaining this project.

Maybe just pick something and go with it? My understanding is that there is a lot to be done.

The py-libp2p project is actually picking up steam. We’ve got 2 maintainers and 4-6 active contributors. We’re having weekly meetings now: libp2p Events Calendar · Events Calendar and everybody is hanging out on discord in the py-libp2p channel: libp2p

Come join us!!
