Hi everyone,
The decentral.community is organizing the revival of the Decentralized Internet and Privacy Devroom at FOSDEM 2026.
Being the backbone of many important systems that decentralize the Internet, libp2p is certainly a project that could bring interesting content to the devroom. There have been a couple libp2p talks in FOSDEM in the recent past (2022, 2023). I would thus like to invite the current libp2p developers and the wider community to join us, take part of the discussions in the devroom, and perhaps submit a talk about what you have been working on lately.
The devroom’s Call for Participation can be read at: https://decentral.community/FOSDEM2026/
Submissions should be sent to: https://fosdem.org/submit
Talks on FOSDEM can and should be highly technical. Don’t be afraid of going into the rabbit hole ![]()
For those unaware, FOSDEM is an annual conference on free and open source software. With more than 8000 developers from all the free software projects you can think of, it is the most relevant conference happening on this topic. It takes place in Brussels (Belgium) during the first weekend of February. It is a community-driven event and entry is free of charge.
Beyond the main program FOSDEM supports dozens of devrooms. These are like mini conferences-within-a-conference, dedicated to a specific theme. The Decentralized Internet devroom has been missing for the past five editions of FOSDEM, but we are now reviving it. Hope to see you there!
